Like many other regulars in the Pink Panther series, he first appeared in A Shot In The Dark (1964), in which he played the role of Cato, Clouseau's karate-crazed butler. As every Panther fan knows, Cato's role in life is not only to serve his detective boss, but to keep him on his toes by attacking Clouseau when he least expects it. Cato jumps out of the refrigerator, drops from the canopy of the bed, sets traps by cutting holes in the floor of their apartment, all in a vain attempt to best his boss in the martial arts.
